Snipe protection
A launch is most exposed in its first moments. A bot watching for new launches can buy the opening of a curve before any person has seen it, then sell into the people who arrive a minute later. Eden makes that trade unprofitable without slowing anyone else down.
The opening tax
Every launch opens with a tax on buys that starts at 99 % and falls in a straight line to zero over the first 15 seconds:
| Seconds after launch | Tax on a buy |
|---|---|
| 0 | 99 % |
| 3 | 79.2 % |
| 6 | 59.4 % |
| 9 | 39.6 % |
| 12 | 19.8 % |
| 15 and later | 0 |
- It applies only to buys. Selling is never taxed by it.
- It is taken from the pair asset you pay, before the curve prices your buy, so the price you see already includes it.
- Nothing goes to Eden or the creator. Every unit of snipe tax is earmarked for the token's own buyback-and-lock, so a sniped opening deepens the token's locked supply instead of rewarding anyone.
- Each launch copies the tax settings when it is created. A later change never affects a launch in flight.
Who is exempt
The creator's launch buy (the mandatory 20 %+ vested buy) happens in the launch transaction itself, before anyone else can buy, and is exempt. It still pays the normal trading fee. A creator may also declare a short list of their own wallets as exempt before trading opens. Exempt wallets are recorded on-chain and visible to everyone.
Routing a buy through Eden's zap never skips the tax: the zap refuses to run against a launch if it would be treated as exempt itself.
Protection at graduation
A freshly seeded pool recreates the same first-block opportunity. For the first block after graduation (one Ethereum block, about 12 seconds on Robinhood Chain), no single address can acquire more than 1 % of the tokens the pool was seeded with. See Graduation.
Graduation also happens in the same transaction as the buy that sells out the curve, so there is never a block where a curve has closed and its pool is empty. Nobody can bundle a "first buy" into that gap.
Why a creator buy instead of a free allocation
Creators get no free tokens. They must buy at least 20 % at launch, through the same curve as everyone else, and that buy is vested for at least 30 days. A creator who wants to dump has to pay for the supply first and then wait.
